Housing options
Choose the option that fits your program and your style. Both are carefully selected, safe and close to your classes or placement — and both come with our 24/7 in-country support.
- Homestay: single or shared room, maximum two students per room per family.
- Homestay: breakfast and dinner included, plus weekly laundry service.
- Students house (Villa Calca, Sacred Valley): single bedroom with shared kitchen, tableware and living area.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Not necessarily. Our service-learning programs are open to all students irrespective of their Spanish level, and daily Spanish classes are included. Some placements (education, medical) require an intermediate level.
Where will I live?
You can stay with a carefully selected host family (single or shared room, two meals a day and weekly laundry) or in our students house in Calca, in the Sacred Valley (single bedroom, shared kitchen and living area).
Will I receive academic credit?
Yes. Summer in Cusco students take two courses (6–7 credits) and receive an official transcript from Universidad Andina del Cusco as School of Record. Academic credit is also available for our Spanish program.
Is Cusco safe for students?
Cusco is one of the safest cities in Perú. UAC campuses are located in safe districts with easy access to supermarkets, restaurants and malls, and our team provides 24/7 in-country support.
Is international health insurance included?
No. International medical insurance is required for all programs but is not included, just like flights, additional tours and the transfer back to the airport.
What do I need for an internship?
You must be at least 19 years old and provide international health insurance, a letter of recommendation and your CV. Spanish skills depend on the placement, and a final project is required.
Can my university design a custom program?
Yes. We build, design, coordinate and operate personalized faculty-led programs anywhere in Perú, around your academic goals and with cultural integration at the core.
Which tours are included?
Every program includes a Sacred Valley tour and a Machu Picchu tour; Summer in Cusco also includes a Cusco city tour.
