Located at 2,800 meters above sea level and just one hour from Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas has one of the best climates in the highland region. It is surrounded by mountains, archaeological sites, Inca trails, markets and local culture.
Why Calca
Peru Study Abroad works in the heart of the valley, in the town of Calca, where we own a house to host students and volunteers (@villacalca). Our programs there involve rural schools, municipal projects and local NGOs.
Living culture
Agriculture — mainly maize (choclo) — is one of the most important activities in the valley. In many villages and communities people preserve their traditions, religion, mysticism, ancestral medicine and the native Quechua language.
Your home base
The students house offers single bedrooms with a shared kitchen and living area. It is the perfect base for service-learning placements and internships in the valley.
